With the increasing of multimedia information inquiry, people are talking about and using touch buttons more and more, because touch buttons have many advantages such as sturdiness and durability, fast response, space saving, and easy operation. According to different working principles, touch buttons can be divided into four categories: resistive, capacitive, infrared and surface acoustic wave induction buttons.
Resistive touch buttons: The principle of resistive touch buttons is very similar to touch screen technology. It needs to be printed on multiple conductive films according to the position of the buttons. Therefore, this type of button requires a touch film on the surface of the device. Resistive touch technology has always been favored by manufacturers due to its low price. However, due to the low durability of the conductive film and the reduced light transmittance, it has been abandoned by more and more manufacturers. Resistive, infrared and surface acoustic wave touch technologies are mainly used on touch screens, and a single button is rarely used.
Capacitive touch buttons: Mainly proposed to overcome the durability of resistive touch buttons. Capacitive touch buttons use capacitance as the criterion. For a single button, it has the following advantages:
1. It can be directly integrated in the PCB;
2. Flexible dimensions;
3. The relative extra cost is extremely low.
